Why this price
1X builds the NEO hand itself, from tendons and motors to skin and touch sensors, and does not sell it, so this is not its price. It is the price of five-finger robot hands with around 20 or more joints that a builder can buy one at a time. The top of the range is a tendon-driven hand like NEO's; hands with fewer motors cost less.
Our own figure, not a price from any company.

21 degrees of freedom, 17 driven and 4 passive, tendon drive, pressure touch sensing, 4 N thumb fingertip force, 2 kg payload, 1,400 g
Why it's similar. A tendon-driven five-finger hand, meaning cords pull the fingers the way NEO's do, with about as many joints and pressure sensing as standard. It is far weaker than NEO's hand at the fingertip.
