Jetson, model not named

Jetson is Nvidia's family of small computers for running AI inside machines, from the low-cost Orin Nano to the powerful Thor. Nvidia says Agility has built a Jetson into the fifth generation of Digit, but neither company says which one.

Strengths and trade-offs

Our analysis

Strengths

A lot of AI computing for little power, which matters on a battery.

Small enough to fit inside a robot.

Runs the same Nvidia software used to train robots in simulation.

The most widely used robot computer, so help and examples are easy to find.

Trade-offs

The exact model is not named, so it cannot be compared with other robots.

Ties the robot to a single supplier.

The smaller models cannot run the largest AI models on their own.

Why robot makers choose it

Our read

Agility trains Digit's skills in Nvidia's simulators, so running them on an Nvidia computer means less has to be rewritten. Agility says it plans to move to the Jetson Thor for more computing, which keeps it in the same family.

This is our reasoning from the public facts. No maker has confirmed it.

Robots using it

This list covers only the robots researched so far. A robot missing here may still use this part.
