Rockchip RK3588
A processor from the Chinese chip maker Rockchip that puts a whole computer on one chip: eight main cores, a graphics unit, a small AI accelerator and video handling. It is widely used in small single-board computers, tablets and smart devices. AgiBot's X2 humanoid uses two of them as its main computing boards.

Rockchip does not publish a price for the chip on its own. This is FriendlyElec's price for its CM3588 board with the RK3588, 4 GB of memory and 64 GB of storage, shown in stock. It is not the board inside the X2.

Strengths and trade-offs
Our analysisStrengths
Eight cores and a built-in AI unit on one low-power chip.
Cheap: complete boards cost around a hundred and fifty dollars.
Handles several cameras and high-resolution video well.
Sold on many ready-made boards, so it is easy to get and try.
Trade-offs
Its AI unit is far weaker than an Nvidia Jetson, so big AI models need another computer.
Software support depends on Rockchip and board makers, and can lag behind.
Not as widely supported by robot software as Nvidia or Intel chips.
Why robot makers choose it
Our readA humanoid sold for performances and demonstrations needs enough computing for movement, cameras and speech, at a low price. The RK3588 offers that on one inexpensive chip, and using two gives the X2 room to spare without the cost of an Nvidia board in every version.
This is our reasoning from the public facts. No maker has confirmed it.
Robots using it
This list covers only the robots researched so far. A robot missing here may still use this part.
