12 sourced facts: 8 confirmed, 3 likely, 1 rumoured. Last checked 14 Oct 2026.

Confirmed
The robot's maker or the part's maker says so.
Likely
A good source points to it, but neither maker has said it outright.
Rumoured
One unverified report. A lead, not a fact.

Availability

Whether you can get one, and what it costs.

Working for customersLikely

Figure 03 has started work at BMW's plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina, moving parts. In September 2026 Figure said it is retiring the older Figure 02 because its Figure 03 fleet is growing.

Why not confirmed. Figure calls the BMW work a 'demonstration' and does not say it is paid production work; the Catalyst Brands commercial agreement (May 2026) does not name Figure 03 in its text.

AI model

The software that decides what the robot does.

HelixConfirmed

An AI model that takes in camera images and spoken instructions and moves the robot's upper body. Figure 03 is run by Helix, Figure's own AI, which turns what the robot sees and hears into movement. Newer versions, Helix 02 and Helix 2.5, control the whole body, from balance to fingers.

Chip

The computer inside the robot that runs it.

Jetson ThorLikely

Nvidia's newest onboard AI computer, aimed at humanoid robots. Nvidia lists Figure as an early user of its Jetson Thor robot computer, and Figure's boss says it lets them run powerful AI models on the robot itself.

Why not confirmed. Nvidia names Figure the company, not Figure 03 specifically, and Figure has not said which chip is inside Figure 03.

Nvidia RTX GPU modulesRumoured

Graphics chips from Nvidia, built into the robot to run its AI. An investment columnist writes that Figure's robots run their AI on two Nvidia RTX graphics modules. Figure has not said so.

Why not confirmed. Opinion column from an investment newsletter, cites no Figure source, does not name Figure 03, and conflicts with the Jetson Thor link; the Forbes copy returned HTTP 403.

Senses

How the robot sees and hears the world.

Stereo camera pairsConfirmed

Cameras in pairs, like two eyes, so the robot can judge distance. Cameras in the head see the world in colour, and Figure works out depth by comparing their views the way two eyes do. The new camera system is twice as fast as the one on Figure 02.

Every robot using Stereo camera pairs
Palm camerasConfirmed

Small cameras in the palms so the robot can see exactly what it is about to grab. Each hand has its own wide-angle camera in the palm, so the robot can see what it is grabbing even when the head's view is blocked.

Touch sensors in the handsConfirmed

Pressure sensors in the fingers and palm that let the robot feel what it is holding. Touch sensors in the fingertips can feel a press as light as three grams, about the weight of a paper clip, so the robot can handle fragile things.

Built-in microphoneConfirmed

A microphone in the robot's body that lets it hear people talking to it. A built-in microphone lets the robot hear spoken instructions; Figure moved it on Figure 03 so it picks up speech more clearly.

Training

How the robot was taught.

Reinforcement learningHelix 02Confirmed

Learning by trial and error, keeping what works. The part of Helix 02 that keeps the robot balanced learned by trial and error in simulation, then the skill was moved onto the real robot.

Simulator, not namedHelix 02Confirmed

Simulation software where the robot practises in virtual worlds. The maker has not said which software. Figure trains the robot's balance and body control inside a computer simulation with more than 200,000 virtual worlds running at once, but has not said which simulation software it uses.

Recorded human movementHelix 02Confirmed

Recordings of how people move, translated to the robot's joints so it learns natural movement. Helix 02 learned how to move its body from more than 1,000 hours of recorded human movement, mapped onto the robot's joints.

First-person human videoHelix 2.5Likely

Video filmed from people's own point of view as they do everyday tasks, used to teach a robot those tasks. Figure trains Helix on huge amounts of first-person video of people doing everyday tasks (its Index dataset, partly filmed in real homes), so the robot can learn new jobs without a person steering it first.

Why not confirmed. Figure's own pages, but the article text does not name Figure 03 as the robot used (Figure 03 appears only in the site navigation).
