Notes/4 Nov 2026
Nvidia chips are in 19 of the 26 robots on Teardex. In 9, only as an extra.
Every robot needs a computer to see, balance and decide what to do next. We went through the chip facts for the 26 humanoids and robot dogs on Teardex, counting only what each robot's own company says.
Nvidia is in 19 of them. Most use its Jetson Orin, a small AI computer, and the newest robots are moving to its successor, Jetson Thor.
But the headline hides a split. In 9 of those 19 robots, Nvidia is only in the developer version or an add-on. The robot as most people buy it thinks with something cheaper: a Rockchip RK3588, an Intel processor, or a chip its company does not name. Nvidia comes in where people want to run their own AI on the robot.

What stands out
The biggest names are on Thor. 1X's NEO, Boston Dynamics' Atlas and Hexagon's AEON all confirm Jetson Thor, and Agility's next Digit uses its industrial version, IGX Thor.
Unitree keeps it optional. All seven Unitree robots on Teardex can carry a Jetson, but none has one as standard. They run Rockchip or Intel chips and offer Nvidia to developers.
Tesla is the one company that makes its own. Optimus runs Tesla's AI5, the same family of chips as its cars.
How we counted
Each robot's chips come from its page on Teardex, where every fact has a public source and a tag for how sure we are. A robot counts only when its own company says so, or Nvidia names that robot as using its chip. Figure 03 is left out on that rule, as Nvidia names only the company. The list keeps changing as companies publish more; the chips compare page is always up to date.
